Frozen Strawberry Fruit Shake Recipe

Yum! Here is your frozen strawberry fruit shake on its way......

PREPARATION- Takes 5 minutes. 25 g (1oz) fresh strawberries, 1 ripe banana, peeled and sliced, 175 ml (6fl oz) pineapple juice (not from concentrate), 1 tsp of regular or manuka runny honey, 3-4 ice cubes.

SERVE IMMEDIATELY- Put prepared fruit, pineapple juice and ice cubes into blender and mix until smooth. Pour into some small glasses and serve. Makes 2-3 servings. You can either juice the pineapple yourself for this recipe, or if you are short of time supermarkets generally do 'pressed' juices. Try to avoid buying juices that are made from concentrate.

When you are buying bananas that you are planning to eat within a few days, make sure that they are ripe. Try not to eat under ripe bananas as they are really hard for the body to digest, especially so for children, as the sugars haven't had a chance to form naturally. Tiny little black dots indicate ripeness.

Bananas should never be kept in the fridge, but are perfect to peel and freeze to use in smoothies and homemade ice-cream. Yum!!
