Strawberry Banana Smoothie Recipe




Yum! Here is your strawberry banana smoothie on its way........

PREPARATION- Takes 5 minutes. 2oz grapes, 2oz fresh strawberries, half a large banana, 125ml (4fl oz) of apple juice (not from concentrate) and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.

SERVE IMMEDIATELY- Put prepared fruit and apple juice into processor/blender and mix until smooth. Pour into some small glasses and serve. Makes 2-3 servings.You can either juice your own apples for this recipe or buy a 'pressed' juice from the supermarket.
Strawberries are a fantastic source of life giving nutrients and perfect for growing kids as they are high in calcium, potassium and iron, all of which are important for strong bones and teeth. Vitamin C and beta carotene also feature high up in their content.

When buying your strawberries, try and get them as fresh as possible. Better still, take the kids and do a 'pick your own' in the summer months. They will love the experience of being able to touch, taste and pick the fruit themselves.

TIP- Strawberries can be frozen all year round, so don't worry about over picking or buying!

To prepare your strawberries, just simply take off the green cap, rinse and you are ready to go!
