Bananas, would you believe it, are over 80 per cent water!. Despite them also being 22 per cent sugar, contrary to popular myth, they are full of the right kind of sugar. They will not make you or the kids overweight if you use them correctly. They are a fantastic source of energy, and banana smoothies provide a lot of fuel for growing, physically active kids.
Bananas make a great quick healthy snack or energy booster if your child is feeling tired and run-down. They are bursting with amino acids (the building blocks of protein), beta-carotene, folic acid, vitamin B3, Vitamin C and have a high mineral content.
