Soft Vegetable Sticks

Soft vegetable sticks are so simple to make!

PREPARATION- Takes 20 minutes

  • 1 small sweet potato
  • 2 broccoli florets
  • 1 small carrot
  • 4 green beans

Steaming is definitely the best way to cook. If you don't own an electric version, use a metal steaming basket over some boiling water in a saucepan (enough water to reach just under the bottom of the basket).

Peel the sweet potato and carrot. Cut everything into strips, topping and tailing the beans and cutting in half.

Steam for about 10 minutes until tender. Serve with a tiny knob of butter and some mixed herbs sprinkled on the top if desired.

Makes 2-3 servings and will keep well in the fridge for anything up to 24 hours.

This recipe works well with pretty much any veg. Why not try it with some courgettes, sprouts or cauliflower.

Having an interesting variety of colours on the plate will encourage your toddler to investigate and try new foods. Now that is good news!!
