Real Chicken Nuggets

PREPARATION- Takes 20-25 minutes.

  • 1 organic/free range chicken breast
  • 3 tbsp dried wholemeal breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg

    Firstly, preheat the oven to 200° C/400° F. Next, find yourself a small to medium sized baking tray and lightly grease with some olive oil/sunflower oil using a cooking brush.

    Next take your meat chopping board and cut the meat into strips. Beat your egg in bowl and put your breadcrumbs in another. Dip each strip in the egg and next into the breadcrumbs, placing on the baking tray when done.

    Cook for 12-15 minutes until golden brown on each side, turning once.

    You may not believe this, but fast food and prepackaged supermarket nuggets are worse than burgers due to their high fat content. They are partially fried in hydrogenated oil, sometimes containing up to 20 grams of fat per serving.

    Manufactured nuggets are seriously bad news for your children's health. They are basically a fatty mouthful of batter, water to bulk them out, animal fat and chicken meat particles.

    And as companies don't often say how much actual meat is in each nugget, who knows what you are getting!!
