Mini Pitta Pizza Faces

These mini pita pizza faces are so much fun! Your toddler can even help you put these quick and easy pizzas together.

PREPARATION- Takes 10 minutes.

  • 2 mini pita breads (white or wholemeal, the latter is better)
  • 1 tbsp of tomato puree
  • 1/2 pepper (any colour) seeds removed and diced
  • 1 tbsp dried mixed herbs
  • 1/4 courgette/aubergine diced
  • 1 tbsp grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped organic ham/turkey (optional) Firstly, get the grill preheated. Next, spread the tomato puree over one side of the pita breads. Sprinkle the ham or turkey if you are using, along with the herbs and all vegetable pieces evenly on top of the pitas.

    Or if you and your toddler are making pita faces, place a strip of pepper as the smile and the pieces of meat or courgette as the eyes and nose.

    Next, sprinkle both of the different cheeses on top and place under the grill. Cook for 5 minutes, until the cheese is melting and just about beginning to brown.

    Leave to cool for about five minutes and cut into slices or triangles.
